Weekly Visits Begin

Mom, dad and Reagan started weekly visits this week with Dr. C. Well, actually, this was a regular visit to Missy - Dr. C. starts next week.

Apparently, Reagan has got her GPS working and is headed for the exit - head down and dropped were the reports this week. Missy said she'd be happy if Reagan would hold off a couple of weeks, but wouldn't stop her if she decided to have an April birthday.

I started making a set of flash cards this week for Reagan at dad's work. You know, just in case she gets here early I'll be ready. Mostly color words and other words I know that I think she'll need to know.

All of the belly-dancing that she's been doing has trimmed two pounds off of mom! (Missy said this wasn't unusual in that last month to shed a few pounds) Reagan continues to get the hiccups about 20 minutes after mom eats, they say this is a sign of a health baby practicing breathing or drinking... sure... That's all I need- a hyper-active over achieving little sister!

Went by the house this afternoon to check on the progress. Little John was trenching in the power feed from the garage to the house. They are supposed to have all of that finished tomorrow and pour the next-to-last part of the concrete. This will complete the drive from the road to the garage. That means the big stuff can start being moved into the garage next weekend. Sheet rockers say they will be finished this week. They are going to have to hit it hard, but maybe by Saturday. HVAC installs begin tomorrow. Maybe we'll get a chance to shoot some pictures of more concrete Friday! fun fun fun - I see a lot of scraped knees in my future. :-(

Dad is still politicking for that new job. Friday is the deadline for applications and then the game is on!

I think that get's everything updated.

More Concrete!

We went to Tupelo today to look for me a bed (found one as mentioned in the previous post). We met Mr. Johnny and Ms. Christy at the house - they were in Tupelo too.

Little John and the crew were working today. They were finishing the sheetrock in the garage and were about to pour the footings for the porte-cochere and back porch. All walls are up now and most of the rafters are set. The should be finished with the sheetrock in the garage this week and should have the tar paper on the house. Looks better every day!

Quick slide show from pour day.

Well - shot a good bit of video that I hope to get edited together by the weekend, but the 2 raw videos and this short slideshow will have to do for today. Tonight is the night we make glass candy for work. (At least until we run out of Karo)

Here we go!

Windows, Doors and Floors

Well - the White Castle now looks like a White Clown - will post pictures tomorrow. Jodie attended the "First Annual Quail Creek Christmas Bunch" at the invitation of one of the neighbors and fielded several questions about "what in the heck are you doing down there on the corner". All joking aside, she had a wonderful time and as has been the case since we first bought the lot, was welcomed into the neighborhood by all in attendance.

After the brunch, we went to B'ham to buy doors and flooring (windows were bought earlier in the week) - all should be on site in the next 3 weeks or so.

CONCRETE PUMPING FOR THE WALLS BEGINS AT 9:30 IN THE MORNING (12/18/07). Seating is on first come first served basis and tickets are $20 at the door or $15 in advance - make checks payable to Trustmark Bank c/o Thompson Construction Interest installment payments. Hope to have lots of video and stills and hopefully no concrete spills.

New White Castle Burgers Location in Tupelo

I'm sure the neighbors think the cheese has slid off our cracker, but the house is coming together now. Either that or they think we hold the franchise rights to White Castle Burgers in MS. So far this week has been spent on deciding on windows and a fireplace - both tasks are complete - I think. Weather is going to delay the pouring of the concrete walls until Friday or Monday, but there is plenty of "finish" work to be done in the garage now.

As for Mom and "Reagan/Thatcher" (sounds like a weekend at Camp David), they rolled over the other night and now have a pinched nerve - Mom keeps begging for a Flexeril, but Missy has her on hot showers and Myofelx cream (and that ain't cutting it.) Says this is much worse than labor with me. I may send her back to Missy tomorrow if she keeps this up. All for now, bye.
