Ketchup anyone?

Now that dad has completed his $40M+ budget project, has the County's assets insured, he and mom have signed countless "bank papers", most of our stuff now spends the night in Tupelo, football season is all but over, it is time for a catch-up blog post. It may take a few days for me to make sure dad gets it right so you may need to read this one several times. I'll try to get him to put "UPDATED" or something on the catch-up post rather than posting too many individual entries. Like the ketchup pic? Notice it is Hunt's and not Heinz... Anyway, here we go:

Looks like the last post was from Molly's birthday party - bet a lot of you thought it was such I blast that we were still to tired to update the blog. It was a great party, but that wasn't what tied everyone up. See, August is a special month - not just because it is Dad's birthday, and Uncle Shane's, and Ms. Beth's and several other people's - NO it is special because that is the month that we press the "hold" button on the Thompson Family lives and work and football season take over. Mom and I went back to school on the 10th and dad's first budget as a County Administrator was due on September 15th - got it done, but whew! what a project. I know everyone wants to know what Reagan was doing - sleeping and pooping. And, staying at Meme Carol's (baby sitter in Tupelo)

Reagan and I really enjoyed the football season this year - we got to play a lot with the Robinson boys and eat a lot of good food. I'll make sure dad posts some of the pictures. I think he made like 2,000,000 this year.

From looking back at some of the earlier posts you will remember we had another little project called BUILDING A HOUSE... Supposed to bring Reagan home to it from hospital - HA! would have been fun seeing how mom would manage that without lights, running water, heat/air conditioning - you know all the little "comforts" Anyway, we were finally able to start calling it home around the middle of October. (I'm still sleeping on the couch and Reagan is sleeping in Mom & Dad's room - cause neither of us have mattresses for our beds - I'm not complaining cause I have the TV where I sleep)

OH - and you better wear "grippie" socks if you come over - these stained concrete floors are S-L-I-C-K! I even have a scar to prove it. Dad was supposed to be giving me a shower, but was putting up curtains and didn't come get me fast enough when I finished my shower (by the way - kudos to Uncle Shane on the shower - looks great!)Anyway, I finished my shower and when I stepped out BAM, down on the concrete I went. That got dad moving... He came in and asked what had happened - duh I FELL!!! He stood me up and was checking to see if anything was broke, which I told him it wasn't, then he looked down - so as to not gross anyone out, I'll just tell you my friend - when you cut your head, it bleeds A LOT!!! After a little drama over not wanting to get stitches I decided we should let a Dr. look at it to make sure I didn't need any. We rode around Tupelo for an hour and a half trying to find somewhere other than the ER to go BUT on Sunday night at 8:30 - you are going to the ER whether you like it or not! No stitches and so far the glue only cost $500. Dad wanted to use duct tape, but that would have required a new hair-do. I have a new appreciation for "wet floor" signs. For those of you who insist on asking about Reagan, she did wake up during my drama over stitches but quickly drifted off to la-la-land, never knew we went to see the "hot" ER Doc. ;-)

Dad has started to settle in at his new job, Mr. Michael now works where dad does and gets to help him do a lot of the stuff he (dad) doesn't want to do. I get to go help every once in a while too. Reagan, not so much. Not a lot she could do - unless daddy needs a paper weight.

Mom is all excited about changes going on at school with a new superintendent and principals etc. etc. etc. Dad keeps telling her to chill that as with most gov't plans - it will change a thousand times before it gets done.

Reagan has a new trick - you can ask her a question and she will nod "yes" Doesn't matter what the question is, the answer is always yes... I hope she sticks with that line of thinking as she gets older. "Will you get out of my room?"-YES "Will you leave me alone?"-YES see-I can work with that.

Like I said I may have to have dad revise some of this over the next few days and I'll try to get some pics posted here pretty soon or at least link to the picasa page. Oh, I almost forgot - I was a witch for Halloween and Reagan was a bumble bee.

Quality time with dad (and sis)

I had spend-the-night company last night - Em came over and we had lots of fun! It was good to see her again. Today the Realtor showed the house again so we went to Tupelo to check on the other house. They have installed out light fixtures and mine looks cute.

Tonight I fell asleep watching 17 (Disney Channel) and when I woke up mom had gone to Wal-Mart so I climbed up in the chair with Dad and Reagan.

Not a whole lot planned for tomorrow.

Reagan's Album is up

Ok - I'm back in charge of my blog! Reagan is soooooo cute! She's got dad hoppin' and posting pics - check out her blog for her full album.

You can click the link at right of my blog and go to hers and BACK TO MINE FROM HERS also.

BABY UPDATE

Today is the day! (For those reading on the blog, dad is posting today Laura is on her way to school with Ms. Traci)

Jo really thought we were going to be able to head out last night about 1:00, but contractions never got closer than 6 or 7 minutes and she dozed off and they quit.

We've been prepped (which means I've found the remote and TV) and are getting antibiotics for the next few hours since the Strep B test was positive at the 37 week visit. They actually let me use my laptop so I should be able to keep everyone updated.

Leslie and Wes cheated and beat us to the hospital! I tried to call their room and got a voice mail - hope everything is alright and Wes was just out to beat the rush - Yeah a rush at 5:00 a.m. At first when I got up I wondered why Jo was watching the "national" NBC broadcast and not the Mornin' Show, then I realized it was the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!!! Even if Kay was still on there, she wouldn't be on yet!

For those of you receiving alerts on cell and email, this message is only being sent to the blog and email recipients since it is longer that what I'll send to cell phones.

Next update will be around 10:00 - unless something changes.

Clock skips ahead

Ok dad has fixed the baby-clock. It is now set for 5:30 am on Monday 5/12 - which is the latest Reagan can punch her ticket. Well - at least mom hopes that is the latest!

A day early and a few cm short...

Ok, mom has cleaned anything that was still or would slow down long enough for her to catch it and the house is ready for a new baby (so we think)

I don't think she slept much last few nights and this morning it was a struggle to go to work.... SO... She convinced Dr. C to see her today instead of tomorrow (in hopes that she'd put her in this week) but no dice!

Dr. C said she's almost 3cm and to go home and rest. If Reagan hasn't punched her ticket by Sunday night, mom & dad are to be at the Woman's Center bright and early Monday 5/12.

So the baby watch continues.

Wrapping up - or at least getting started wrapping up

Mom and dad went to Dr. C today for regular weekly-checkup and Reagan is still in there! Everything is progressing as expected. They'll go back every week from now on.

We spent Saturday picking out paint colors for the new house. (mom's nesting) (My room is purple! and Reagan's is green)

We threw my Cousin Jessica a wedding shower at Grandmaw and Grandaddy's Sunday - I had a lot of fun.

Yesterday, we went to look at a new house our painter had painted (I like ours better) but the painter did do a great job. We're ready for him to paint ours. Just have to get the sheetrockers and then the floor guys out of the way.

Tomorrow I'm staying home from school with mom and dad to pack some stuff up. Mr. JC is letting dad borrow his trailer. (Hope he remembers what happened to the last trailer dad borrowed - we still have seen hide nor hair of it.)

Oh, Dad asked me to get everyone that wants email updates or text messages from us when Reagan decides to make her appearance to send an email to sthompson33@gmail.com with the subject "baby updates" if you want text messages, you need to include the cellphone number in the email. (Or you can keep a regular check on the blog the day we go and catch the updates there)

Here is what dad and mom sent when I finally decided to make my grand appearance:

6/6/2002
8:38AM
Hope this works... We are at the hospital and I'm sending this from my phone. They have started her drip. Mom & baby are fine.

12:51PM
Baby update-Jo got her epidural around lunch. She's to 5cm. BP dropped a little, but she & baby are still fine.

3:19PM
We're almost there 9cm. Mom & baby are ready to get on with the show! Maybe next update will be the last.

6:30PM
She's here! 5:05p 5.15lbs 17 inches. Everybody is fine, even me. Should go home Saturday.

9:46PM
Thanks for to all of you for thinking of us. I slighted her a half-inch, she is a proud 17.5 inches long. Attached is the first of many many pictures. Mom and Laura as still doing fine. Dr. says we should come home Saturday morning still.

Thanks again,

The Thompson

I misunderstood the nurse about Laura's weight, she is 5 pounds 15 ounces. It had been a long day. The first of many, I'm sure.

Dad is such a pack-rat he still has all the emails from back then!

Here's a slide show of my first few (Ha!35) pictures. Enjoy

Weekly Visits Begin

Mom, dad and Reagan started weekly visits this week with Dr. C. Well, actually, this was a regular visit to Missy - Dr. C. starts next week.

Apparently, Reagan has got her GPS working and is headed for the exit - head down and dropped were the reports this week. Missy said she'd be happy if Reagan would hold off a couple of weeks, but wouldn't stop her if she decided to have an April birthday.

I started making a set of flash cards this week for Reagan at dad's work. You know, just in case she gets here early I'll be ready. Mostly color words and other words I know that I think she'll need to know.

All of the belly-dancing that she's been doing has trimmed two pounds off of mom! (Missy said this wasn't unusual in that last month to shed a few pounds) Reagan continues to get the hiccups about 20 minutes after mom eats, they say this is a sign of a health baby practicing breathing or drinking... sure... That's all I need- a hyper-active over achieving little sister!

Went by the house this afternoon to check on the progress. Little John was trenching in the power feed from the garage to the house. They are supposed to have all of that finished tomorrow and pour the next-to-last part of the concrete. This will complete the drive from the road to the garage. That means the big stuff can start being moved into the garage next weekend. Sheet rockers say they will be finished this week. They are going to have to hit it hard, but maybe by Saturday. HVAC installs begin tomorrow. Maybe we'll get a chance to shoot some pictures of more concrete Friday! fun fun fun - I see a lot of scraped knees in my future. :-(

Dad is still politicking for that new job. Friday is the deadline for applications and then the game is on!

I think that get's everything updated.

Spring Has Sprung

My Weather Artist drawing was published in the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal today 4.16.08. That's me, daddy, mommy and Reagan - and a butterfly, the sun and some grass.

Sheet rock is up!

The crew hung 95% of the house in just one day and are expected to have it all finished and ready for paint by Friday (4/18). Only got 3 pics cause the battery died in moms camera. For the most part, rooms did get bigger when the sheet rock went up. I really like my two closets and Reagan is sure to love her walk-in.

Speaking of Reagan - she's still hanging out (literally) with mom. I can tickle mom's belly and she (Reagan, not mom) rolls over. It really creeps dad out - he says it looks like something from Alien.

Little John says plumbing and electrical put us behind a couple of weeks so we are now looking at June 1st as completion date versus May 15th. That would be just in time for my birthday party!

As for Reagan, Mom believes that she will be early versus late. We may have to make a crib out of a moving box or stick her in the chest-of-drawers!

Lootfest!

The teachers at my and mom's school gave Reagan a shower this past Wednesday. I've got to make this short cause we've got 40 or so thank you cards to write. We had cake, punch and finger foods. I even go some really cool stuff! Some Polly Pockets, a pillow case that says "A princess sleeps here", a t-shirt that says "I'm the Princess and Big Sister". Reagan got lots of stuff. My favorites are a quilt that grandmaw made and a bib that says "I love my Big Sister."

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and since I've got several hundred words to write - here are the pictures.

22 pounds, 40 cans, 1 root canal and 20 points

Big busy week - hard to believe it was only a 4 day week! Mom and I were out Monday - Dad had to work. He went to the Moon for a 2-day conference! (Note from Dad: actually it was the Golden Moon Resort - not the real Moon)

Mom and Reagan had their regular visit with Missy. Mom's been a good girl and gained just 22 pounds with Reagan - she keeps saying "That sure is better than the 60 I gained with Lou." Whatever! Wasn't my fault - I only weighed 5 pounds 15 ounces! Mom starts going every 2 weeks now - Getting close to being a Big Sister!

We must have like 40 or 50 can lights in this house! Lots of good reading light!

Mom had her root canal on Thursday - not as bad as the stomach virus, but still no fun.

I earned 20 points for the AR (Accelerated Reader) books that I've read. I love reading! I used my points in the AR store to get a Purple My Little Pony.

Below are pictures from the house this week. Enjoy!

Mom's Turn

Mom woke up with the dreaded stomach bug this morning. After they dropped me off, Mom and dad went to the Women's Center to make sure that Reagan wasn't taking a page from my book about trying to get here at week 28. So far, looks like she's sticking to the 40 week program. Dr. "C" saw mom and said everything was fine with Reagan and to not worry, just go home and take some Phenergan and ride it out. (Now that everyone has had their turn, I sure hope we don't start over - yuck!)

Dad and I went by the house on our way home - We have the beginnings of a driveway and now have garage doors in place. Dad's camera was not in the truck (still)

Still a girl...

Yes, for those of you who've been asking - Reagan is still a girl. She and Mom had their regular visit today and they checked the items off the sonogram list that Reagan would not cooperate on last time. I decided to stay at school for this visit - wasn't too exciting at Missy's office last time. Between you and me - all I saw was bubbles - but mom and dad say they saw a baby. Must be like the bell in the Polar Express, either you hear it - or you don't. Oh well...

I HAVE A ROOM - I HAVE WINDOWS (SORT OF)

WOW!!!! - the house has really started to come together - Reagan and I got the first look at our "space" today. Dad thought he was being real cute when he showed me "Reagan's" attic playroom. I quickly asked, "Where's mine?" Dad swears that it was "our" attic - I just don't have a door.

Enjoy the pics - Mommy and Reagan are doing fine - she's getting practice keeping Mom and Dad up at night already. What time she's not kicking mom - OR HAVING THE HICCUPS (I promise you - she had the hiccups the other night - hehehe) she's keeping Daddy awake by making mommy snore and moan when she kicks her. I'm glad I have my OWN bed.

All for now. Bye bye
