Easter 08 Pics

22 pounds, 40 cans, 1 root canal and 20 points

Big busy week - hard to believe it was only a 4 day week! Mom and I were out Monday - Dad had to work. He went to the Moon for a 2-day conference! (Note from Dad: actually it was the Golden Moon Resort - not the real Moon)

Mom and Reagan had their regular visit with Missy. Mom's been a good girl and gained just 22 pounds with Reagan - she keeps saying "That sure is better than the 60 I gained with Lou." Whatever! Wasn't my fault - I only weighed 5 pounds 15 ounces! Mom starts going every 2 weeks now - Getting close to being a Big Sister!

We must have like 40 or 50 can lights in this house! Lots of good reading light!

Mom had her root canal on Thursday - not as bad as the stomach virus, but still no fun.

I earned 20 points for the AR (Accelerated Reader) books that I've read. I love reading! I used my points in the AR store to get a Purple My Little Pony.

Below are pictures from the house this week. Enjoy!

Dad's adventure at herding cats - I mean kindergartners

This is a LONG UNEDITED video of my "field" trip to hunt Easter eggs. We had lots of fun - even in the rain.

Tic Toc Tic Toc Tic Toc

Dad thinks the "baby/house" clock has sped up - we're both pretty sure that mom thinks it has stopped. Dad was off work today and spent most of the day at the house playing "cable guy" running CATV/Computer/Speaker/Phone cables- came in looking like he'd been run over by a train and only got it half finished! Guess I'll have to go help tomorrow.

Wednesday, Dad came to my school and went on an Easter Egg Hunt! When he got there it was sprinkling rain, but after we read a story it stopped and we walked down the street to one of my classmate's house. We had rules over how many eggs we could find - 10 to begin with and once everyone had 10 we could get as many of the "extras" as we could find. I found 17. Then, we had cake! Shaped like a Easter Bunny - it was really good, I promise you. Dad shot some video, but as usual, hasn't "processed" it yet.

Check back later and I'll see if I can get him to post some of the video and pictures of the house. They are supposed to start something called sheetrock next Wednesday.

I think mom has changed Reagan's name to Braxton Hicks - sound like a funny name for a girl to me...

The boxes keep stacking up in the kitchen and we are taking them as we go over to the house. Those trips are special and we get to take dad's truck - he says "With diesel at almost $4/gallon we have to make every drop count"

(Sidebar from Dad - that is a 171% increase since August 2006 - where is my Bio Diesel. I sold my gas guzzler and increased my fuel efficiency by 43% - They say bread, eggs, beef etc is going up cause we are using the grain and soy beans for bio fuel, but I have pruchased 1 tank of bio fuel in 2 years! And that was in Georgia. AND, it was the same price as ULSD!)

OK - I've taken the computer away from Dad - he was starting to sound like Dede. :-)

Ok Mom says supper is ready - so I'm going to eat.

Boxes,Blood Sugar and Bricks

OK- So after my "snow day", which was over by 2:00, Spring Break was in session! Woo Hoo! A week of rest and relaxation! WHAT!!! We have to WHAT!!! PACK!!!!!!!

I never knew mom and dad had so much junk (that we can do without for 2 and a half months while they finish the house.) The cats and I have been lucky to keep from getting boxed up.

Dad actually cleaned up the "outside" storage and now we have something called a car port where mom's truck can be parked and not get wet when it rains!

After 2 days of dodging the tape gun - I got to go to work with dad for a little while while mom went for her 3 hour sugar test. Fun fun fun... not really too bad I got to color and read and the ladies at the office picked at me. BTW- mom must have studied more for this one cause she found out today that she passed the test!

As the slide show shows, we now have brick going up on the house. Back porch looks pretty cool, can't wait to grill some burgers on it. In between trips to take boxes to the house, most of the time was spent at either Lowe's or Home Depot. I think I've slept more at Lowe's this week than in my bed at home. Who knew it takes 3 days (10 hours total)to pick out cabinets and counter tops - glad mom and dad KNEW what they wanted!

Dad's new "Having a baby, building a house, paying interest" diet is starting to pay off. After spending most of the week pulling his pants up he finally stepped on the scale. 23 pounds GONE in 3 months - just by cutting out expensive-hi-calorie lunches - of course the bout with the stomach bug really kick-started things. Can't wait to see what the "Buying Pampers, Furnishing House, and Mortgage Payment" diet will do!

I can't wait to get back to school! Sunday we are going to Amory to see Molly and Morgan it's Morgan's birthday (Monday) but we're having party Sunday. The cat in the slide show looks just like Honey Bun - a cat we gave to Morgan a long time ago. Must be his great-great-great-great grandson.

Spring Break SNOW DAY!!!

OK - I WANT A REFUND! SPRING BREAK STARTS AND IT SNOWS - AND ON A SATURDAY!!! But making snow angels was fun. Snow was too dry and powdery to make a big snowman. So, we made a small one and I had dad photoshop the eyes, arms, hat, scarf, and buttons on him.

The video camera battery was dead, but check out the flip book dad made of me making a snow angel-

The GumTree Museum of Art Exhibition

What: Art from the Tupelo Public Elementary Schools - “Shared Treasures”
When: March 4 – 14 Public Opening March 6, 2008
Where: GumTree Museum of Art
Sponsored by the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal
Click here to visit the Museum's Web page

My first art exhibit. No wine and cheese, but the lemonade punch and green cupcakes were very good. The cupcakes had rings on them that looked like a box of crayons. The piece that was selected for exhibition is my interpretation of Monet's Water Lilys (The Clouds). There are approximately 300 pieces in the exhibit from all of the Tupelo Public Schools - 35 from my school. We will try to get back and make some more pictures and post, but if you're in the area, the museum is on Main Street one block west of Reed's.
